“Body of Evidence,” a TV pilot about a feisty medical examiner, is set to start shooting in Rhode Island in March.  The ABC Studios project joins a list of recent TV pilots shot in RI, including ABC’s “House Rules” and CBS’ “Empire State.”  But we’re still holding out for a flashy CW teen drama–maybe something along the lines of 02912.

A group of Providence high school students gathered in front of the Rhode Island Department of Education yesterday to voice their support for Central Falls Supt. Frances Gallo’s plan to fire all Central Falls high school teachers.  The students, who belong to a group called Young Voices, held a press conference to advocate for the reform and express their frustration with the current education system.

Newport is a contender to host the America’s Cup, a premier sailing competition,  in 2013.  The race, which was last held in Valencia, Spain, could bring jobs and dollars to a battered Rhode Island economy.  As for predictions on a Newport race, it all comes down to a home turf advantage, making the Brown sailing team our bet for the big win.
