Dow Travers ’12 placed 69th out of the 81 skiers in men’s giant slalom, among that were able to complete the course. His finish placed him ahead of American super-skier Bode Miller, who was disqualified when he did not finish the first run. Travers’ total time was 3:02:89, finishing 25:06 after gold medal winner Carlo Janka of Switzerland. The silver medal went to Kjetil Jansrud of Norway and the bronze went to Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway. In his first run, Travers, with a time of 1:29:39, placed 75th out of the 89 skiiers that completed the course.
Travers is competing as the lone member of the Cayman Islands team, whose flag he is pictured carrying here.
