A doll of President Barack Obama was found hung upside down in effigy in a Central Falls High School classroom. The room belongs to one of the fired teachers at the school, but State Police have determined the incident was not a hate crime and the teacher will stay in the classroom for now.

Rhode Island’s total number of jobless residents has declined for the first time in three years. Though the unemployment rate remains the same at 12.7 percent, the state has managed for two months in a row to create more jobs for the unemployed.

The first round of the NCAA basketball tournament has brought in the tourists, who seem to have liked the city for its architecture, “home-like feel,” and, yes, the fantastic weather we’ve been having this week.
