This weekend, healthcare reform came to the floor in the House of Representatives. The House voted on the Senate healthcare bill passed in December and on the House reconciliation bill, which contained proposed amendments to the Senate bill. Amidst a flurry of debate on the floor and protest outside, C-SPAN hosted extensive coverage of this monumental decision. Until hours before the vote, many democrats were still undecided and the tense moments before the decision made C-SPAN as exciting to watch as any NCAA tournament game. Both bills narrowly passed.
Final Vote Tallies (each bill needed 216 votes to pass)
Votes on Bill Passed by Senate in December: 219 to 212
Votes on Reconciliation Bill: 220 to 211
