Last Saturday, the week-long New England Festival of Ibero-American Cinema (NEFIAC) opened in Providence. The festival will feature films, documentaries, shorts, and animations produced in Latin American, Spain, and Portugal as well as panel discussions with directors. Co-sponsored by Brown’s Center of Latin American and and Caribbean Studies, the festival will present films here at Brown, The Avon, Cable Car Cinema, as well as at Yale, Harvard, and the College of William & Mary. NEFIAC’s goal is to promote Hispanic culture and connect it to the academic resources here in New England. Check out the schedule and ticket info at the festival’s website.
