Looking for the perfect analogy to add that special something to your final paper?  Your search is not yet over (sorry).  You may get a kick out of this page, though.  A little over a decade ago, the Washington Post compiled a list of some absolutely terrible analogies submitted by lit-crazed readers.  For example:

Third-Runner-Up: Her artistic sense was exquisitely refined, like someone who can tell butter from I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. (Barbara Collier, Garrett Park)
