Time-waster of the day: February 3, 2011

Ever wonder what the movie “Up” would have been like if it had been made in the 1960s?  Hop on over to YouTube and check out “Premakes.” A clever YouTube user has created a series dedicated to showing what trailers for modern films would have looked like if they had been shot in the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s.  Using footage from old movies (e.g. the “Up” Premake is edited to feature Spencer Tracy as the elderly Carl Fredricksen), this YouTuber has done what many modern filmmakers can only dream of: he has captured the essence of the good ol’ days.
