After a close loss at Penn in overtime, the Brown Men’s Basketball team looks to rebound with a weekend of games at home against IVY league opponents. The game against Columbia will be the first home game for the Bears, while classes are in session, since November 24th. The large student turnout expected will hopefully give Brown the spark it has needed.

The Women’s Basketball Team is now in the middle of conference play, and needs to reverse their current course. The Women’s team is still looking for its first win against an IVY league opponent after tough losses last weekend to Princeton and Penn. The team needs to improve its outside shooting (3-pt FG% over last two games: 25.0%) and receive strong guard play to get more opportunities in the interior.

Although the Men’s Ice Hockey Game against Harvard on Wednesday was postponed (The game will now be played on February 22nd), the Brown Men’s Hockey Team faces another Ivy League opponent, the Dartmouth Big Green Hockey Team. A win against the 17th ranked Dartmouth Team would be a big break for a Brown Hockey Team that is in the midst of the a 3-game losing streak, all against ECAC opponents; this is also the last home game for Brown before a stretch of 4 away games.

Following a 3-match home losing streak, the Women’s Ice Hockey team may need a change of venue. The Women’s Team will certainly be playing in new surroundings as it starts a stretch of 5 away matches against conference opponents. The match against a struggling Union team could be a turning point for the team, and possibly lead to a strong finish to the season.
