BREAKING: TV on the Radio to join Diddy on the Main Green

At a press conference this evening, BCA finally confirmed the swirling rumors that Diddy-Dirty Money and TV on the Radio will be the two headliners for Spring Weekend 2011!!!!! The announcement comes after a rumor posted on GoLocalProv this afternoon and Diddy’s less-than-subtle tweet last week. Booking a posse of Pitchfork darlings as the second headliner seems like the best way to keep Spring Weekend’s “alt-cred” at an acceptable level. BCA says the full lineup should be announced next week (expect another 3-4 performers) and BlogDailyHerald artist profiles will soon follow. Check tomorrow’s Herald for full coverage. A couple videos after the jump.

I have never even heard of TV on the Radio, so they must have great “indie cred.” Sometimes I wish they’d book a band I actually listened to, but that would be too mainstream for Brown’s hipsters.

Tv on the Radio’s album Dear Science was ranked #1 on rolling stone’s “best albums of 2008″ list. They are hardly unknown.
