Student Group Spotlight: WBRU

Before the era of Steve Jobs, people actually got their music from …(pause)… the radio (shocking, I know).  Though students no longer have landline phones in their dorm rooms nor boom boxes, the pre-digital age still lives on.

WBRU, begun in 1936, is the first student-owned-and-operated campus station in the U.S.  Based out of 88 Benevolent St, it receives no funding from the University but is run by Brown students.  They are currently in the process of an expansive recruitment campaign and, well, they want you.
