Cheer your hearts out: Sporting events 9/16 – 9/18

The Bears celebrate their win over Stony Brook in 2010. They hope to beat the Seawolves again Saturday.

Come cheer on your fellow classmates this weekend at the following home match-ups:

Friday, 9/16

Women’s volleyball is hosting the Brown Invitational. Its first match is against Fordham at 7pm.

Men’s tennis will also be hosting the Brown Invitational, but right now there are no times posted for the matches, sadness.

Saturday, 9/17

Women’s volleyball vs. Maryland Eastern Shore at noon.

Women’s volleyball vs. Bryant at 7pm for the conclusion of the Brown Invite.

Again, men’s tennis at some mystery time.

Sunday, 9/18

The undefeated women’s soccer vs. Sacred Heart at 4pm.

Men’s tennis vs. ? at ?.

Most of the Bears will be playing away from home, looking to upset a lot of other schools who probably have some animal mascot that’s not as fierce or as cool as “the Bears” (and therefore, these other schools should lose). Anyway, here’s the away schedule:

Men’s soccer is looking to win another title at the South Carolina tournament. Bruno faces South Carolina Friday night and Kentucky on Sunday.

Men’s water polo will be competing in the North/South Challenge at Navy.

The cross country squads are running full-tilt to the championships at the Iona Meet of Champions in N.Y.

Women’s golf will be teeing off this Saturday at Yale for the Yale Intercollegiate.

Field hockey faces its first Ivy foe of the season at Columbia.

And last but certainly not least, football kicks off its season at Stony Brook in the first of three straight night games.
