China’s Economic Rise and the Global Economy
Salomon 001
4-5:15 pm

The Econ department is at it again — those crazy commies. Professors from Harvard and UC San Diego will be in attendance, along with Dr. Justin Lin, Chief Economist at the World Bank. According to the event invitation, refreshments will be provided free of charge, but here’s the real question: is water included? Looking at you, Dr. Lin.

MMI Fall Seminar: Artuor Casadevall, M.D., Ph.D.
Biomed Center 291
4-5 pm

There are two reasons why you should go to this talk: first, double docs are way cool. Second, the refreshments will be served at 3:45 — before the event, beezyfaces. So, even if you get bored during the talk, you’ll at least have a full stomach.

Community Tea
Petteruti Lounge (in Faunce)
4-5 pm

Community Teas are supposedly held to bring together the entire community, including faculty, staff and, of course, students… But let’s be real — we really only want to hang out with Shiva Balaghi.

Barclays Capital Information Session
Faculty Club
5:30-7:30 pm

I accidentally clicked “attending” on this event on Facebook and barely retrieved my soul from Hades. It was a close call. Also, Faculty Club? WTF?

Development Studies Open House
Watson Institute Lounge (Suite 130)
6-7 pm

Have an interest in DS? Stop by to talk to concentration advisors and other members of the DUG. “Tasty food” is also advertised.

’90s Night at ADPhi
Goddard House
7:30-10:30 pm

WOW this makes us feel old. Since when was ’90s retro? In spite of that, ADPhi might just lure us in with promises of TV shows, snacks and board games, though. Can’t get enough of those board games.

LINK @ Brown’s 2nd GB: Crossing
8-10 pm
Smitty B 206

Talk about big time. Free “local Korean food” will be served during a screening of Crossing, a film about North Korean refugees. Uh…guys? By “local Korean food,” you really just mean Mama Kim’s, right?
