Football team hosts American Cancer Society fundraiser

Pink tees and pumping iron collide on the Main Green this afternoon, as the Brown Football Team hosts its “Bench Press for Cancer” fundraiser.

Through flat rate donations and pledges per rep, Brown’s athletes and coaches raised money for the American Cancer Society by bench pressing 165 lbs dumbbells.

This is the Bench Press for Cancer’s fifth year, football linebacker and event coordinator Brett Wyman ’12 said. Previous events had raised a total of $75,000, and this year’s event hopes to break $100,000.
