Whether or not you’ve taken HIAA0010, you know that over the years, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa has become,
like Kim Kardashian, famous for being famous. The painting’s original appeal is its esoteric nature — Mona Lisa’s enigmatic smile doesn’t quite seem to match the desolate setting in which she is placed. But how does the painting change when a helpless, fluffy kitten is plopped in Mona Lisa’s lap?
It improves exponentially, obvi. There’s no combination more bizarre (or hilarious) than a kitty and some mysterious Italian lady chillin’ in a hazy, ambiguous outdoor location. Check out some other Famous Paintings Improved by Cats (e.g. Rembrandt’s Danae, Monet’s Haystacks at Giverny, and Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, among others). You won’t be disappointed. Meow.
