Time-waster of the day: February 17, 2012

The Grammys were on Sunday night, and, as usual, there were awards handed out to the cream of music’s crop an interesting selection of musicians. The highly-prized “Best New Artist” and “Best Alternative Music Album” awards went to Bon Iver, led by that hairy-faced son of Wisconsin, Justin Vernon, whose track “Holocene” just might be the ultimate dead-of-winter song. So although Vernon & Co. were deserving winners (and very humble/jerks about it), some people (read: a soul-crushingly large number of people) were very confused as to who the hell this band is and why they beat out Nicki Minaj and Skrillex — seriously, didn’t this happen last year with Arcade Fury or Furor or whatever? WHAT IS THIS TRAVESTY? So, naturally, there’s a tumblr dedicated to this outrage. Enjoy.
