Electric Daisy Carnival, the travelling electronic dance music (EDM) festival that brought almost a quarter of a million people to Las Vegas Motor Speedway last June, is coming to New York City for the first time on May 19th and 20th. Some of you might be finishing up finals around then, but if you’re already out of school and are at all an EDM fan, this is not an event to miss. See below for the trailer for the New York edition.
At the Las Vegas version, up to half a dozen stages ran music until 6:00 a.m., with artists like Steve Angello, Skrillex, Calvin Harris, Skream and Benga, Dada Life, and Afrojack all performing throughout the weekend. Though the lineup for Electric Daisy has yet to be announced — as well as the exact location, though the Meadowlands and Randalls Island are both possibilities — tickets go out Friday at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are 18+, so freshmen can still make it to the event. According to SPIN, a 3-day general admission ticket for the Vegas show last year cost $215 (pricey, I know, but worth it), but ticket prices for New York haven’t been released yet. This festival will be one of the biggest collections of EDM talent ever on the East Coast, so definitely set your alarms for 3:00 if you’re interested.
