The Pawtucket Red Sox, Boston’s AAA minor league affiliate, partnered with Brown Sports Business to make their Saturday, May 12 game against the Columbus Clippers “Brown Night” at McCoy Stadium. Professor Hazeltine is throwing out the first pitch, which might be worth the price of admission by itself. We expect his effort (and the crowd’s reaction) to resemble this (George W. Bush) a bit more than this (Mariah Carey). The Jabberwocks will perform the national anthem. The game is at 6:05 p.m., but buses are leaving from the corner of Brown and George at 3:30 p.m. The $20 ticket covers your transport, seat and food. Definitely a good deal. For more information, check the Facebook event here.
Note for Red Sox fans: Daisuke Matsuzaka will be making another rehab start that night as he works to recover from Tommy John surgery. So, if you would like to see what has become of the Sox’s questionable $100 million investment, you might have an extra reason to attend this game.
