Time-waster of the day: September 27, 2012
If you’re into strange European adaptations of upcoming blockbuster prequels, then you should stop reading this post. It will suck your entire day. BuzzFeed has made a list of over a dozen mostly extremely weird photographic depictions of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. Though many can’t wait for the December 14th premiere of Peter Jackson’s adaptation, we prefer the 1985 Soviet adaptation that features a rather Santa-like Bilbo being accosted by a goblin that (we think?) is supposed to be Smeagol. The best part? You can watch that entire movie on YouTube. One hour and 12 minutes. In Russian. Best of luck.
