Event: Into the Grind(s)

“Come sample coffee varieties from around the world and learn about different brewing techniques and blends in the Underground Coffee Co.” This event is totally free and will feature informational sessions on brewing techniques at 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, December 1

Event: UCS Open Forum
Location: Salomon 001
Time: 8:00 p.m.

The Undergraduate Council of Students will be moderating a forum on the Pathways to Diversity and Inclusion Plan. The event will include both an overview of the plan and a Q&A with the following administrators: Rick Locke, Maud Mandel, Liza Cariaga-Lo, Mary Grace Almandrez, & Janet Blume.

Wednesday, December 2

Event: In Transition: A Thayer Street Pop-Up Exhibition
Location: 271 Thayer Street (Where City Sports used to be)

Event: Grading the Green

“As a part of the class Pathology to Power, a group of Brown students have turned the tables on this University and graded some of the most important spaces for students on campus. These buildings were graded with various types of accessibility in mind to be more inclusive of our community.”

Event: Applied Music Voice Masterclass
Location: Grant Recital Hall
Time: 4:00 p.m.

Is singing “Happy Birthday” a struggle? Have you always been secretly envious of Ariana Grande? If you answered yes to either of these questions, or are just interested in improving your singing voice, join Dr. Brad Fugate in a musical masterclass. This event is free, open to the public, and not nearly as intimidating as a having doctorate in vocal performance would lead you to believe it is.

Sending a Brown Bear Admirers is so October. Instead, pay a member of the Swearer Center’s Writers Group $1 and they’ll put quill to paper and compose a poem for you, your admired, or anyone you’d like. All proceeds go towards the Swearer Center’s Community Partnership, offering adults with developmental disabilities creative writing workshops.

Event: SCAC Lecture Series: Juliana Huxtable

Event: Where Can I Pee? Trans Week Scavenger Hunt
Time: 2:00 p.m.
Location: Sign up at the LGTBQ Center in Faunce

Locate all the gender inclusive bathrooms on campus for the chance to win some wonderful prizes. Plus, everyone who participates will get a t-shirt! This scavenger hunt kicks off Trans Week, which will have daily events until Friday.

Event: University Response in Moments of Crisis
Time: 5:30 p.m.

In the past few years alone, Brown has experienced major moments that have reshaped the campus and community’s culture. If you’ve ever wondered what the decision process is, or have wanted to effect the process, of responding to these events come to this discussion wherein, “participants [will be] split into roundtable groups to think through action items regarding response mechanisms.”
