The 12 Foods/Drinks of SW: Treat yo’ self

It’s been a rough few days, and you wouldn’t want any bad luck to befall you in the final stretch before Spring Weekend. You’ve been everywhere on Thayer, and those calzones sure are good, but you want a change.

Two words: food trucks.

You’ve seen them around, but you’ve always thought, “Eh, the line is so long,” or, “Where would I sit and eat this?” The thing is, with the spring sun finally coming out and hordes of hungry students wandering around, the food truck-palooza is sure to hit the campus full force over the next few weeks, giving you both an ample food selection and a variety of crowded greens to sit on. Whether you’re waiting for some Korean BBQ, pulled pork sandwiches, green chili cheeseburgers or cupcakes, the lines usually move pretty quickly and you get to chat around with friends while you anticipate your impending foodgasm. Make sure you give some trucks a try now so you can choose wisely when they invade our streets over Spring Weekend! Treat yo’ self.

The 12 Foods/Drinks of SW: Power through

funny_coffeeThe big week(end) is rearing its party face, but all you can think about is that big Orgo exam on Thursday… Even worse, your professors are giving you thesis and homework deadlines the Monday after Binder! Rude!

So to help you get through your studying, may we suggest a simple black coffee? Aside from keeping your awake, it’ll help against migraines and headaches, among other things. No need for all the Starbucks variations (they’re all bad for you anyways) or the “sugar-free” energy drinks — remember, you still need to be in premium shape for all the activities to come.

As for all the seniors, make it a Hoegaarden (pronounced Who-Garden, not… the other way) tonight at the Geec.

The 12 foods/drinks of SW: Get your drank on

vitamin waterBecause we hope you’re as excited as we are about Spring Weekend, we’ve decided to up the anticipation even more. We’ll be hitting you with a snapshot of the food and drinks we’ll be consuming over the next 12 days.

Because you may know (or you can guess) that the amount of exquisite, delicate, flavorful sustenance about to hit your palate over the next few days can be too much to handle, why not prepare your stomach/body with a shot of nutrients?

To this extent, we suggest some Vitamin Water (like XXX or Power-C) and fruit juices with plenty of antioxidants and vitamins to reload once you finish all your assignments. We’re not sure what any of these words mean but they suggest health and responsibility, things we will soon be sacrificing in favor of free love beer music … well, paid-for fun. You’ll find these beverages in all the auxiliary eateries and neighborhood markets for fairly cheap prices.

And if you really can’t wait for the fun to start, they also make great mixers.
