Monday, October 26

Event: Active Minds’ Ben and Jerry’s Benefit Night
Time: 7:00 p.m. — 9:00 p.m.
Location: Ben and Jerry’s

A portion of all the proceeds will go to Active Minds, a student group that raises awareness of mental health and aims to destigmatize mental illness on campus and beyond. Plus, you get ice cream. Win win.

Tuesday, October 27

Event: The Mask You Live In screening
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Granoff Auditorium

Join IFF in a free screening of The Mask You Live In, a documentary that asks, “As a society, how are we failing our boys?” This film will cover questions of imposed masculinity and much more.

Wednesday, October 28

Event: Halloween on Wriston
Time: 2:00 p.m. –6:00 p.m.
Location: Wriston Quad

Elementary students from the community will be sporting their costumes early and trick or treating around Wriston. Join the Greek Council in welcoming them! It’s without competition for cutest yearly event on Wriston.

PSA: It’s Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s!

Ben & Jerry’s is giving us one more thing to be excited about this week: FREE ice cream. Although the weather forecast for today is less than ideal for enjoying your cone outside on the Green, free is free. From 12-8 p.m. you can line up on Thayer to get yourself a complimentary cone. Before you ask: No, Ben & Jerry’s did not plan this around Spring Week. Weirdly enough, it’s a nation-wide thing that’s been happening since 1979, and just has super fortuitous timing this year. Spring has sprung!

The Brown Band swung by Meeting Street today to play for the eager customers in line for a free scoop of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

We know it’s been a long week. We also know it’s just Tuesday — we don’t judge. Luckily, today will be a good day. Why? Because it’s FREE CONE DAY AT BEN & JERRY’S! If you’re still bummed because you missed IHOP’s National Pancake Day, fear not: you don’t need a Zipcar to enjoy this sweet deal. Head over to the dangerously close convenient Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop on Meeting St. anytime today from noon to 8:00 p.m. for your free cone.

If you’re really intense about your free ice cream, go to our local shop’s website to check out the selection of flavors available to plan strategically. Ben & Jerry’s recently launched a Greek frozen yogurt line, and while it might be too adventurous, it’s still free. It’s all about the big picture, people.

If you’re reading this during class, get off the Internet start devising your game plan now. Last year’s line got pretty cray pretty fast, so plan accordingly. Also, be respectful of those around you and don’t cut in line. It’s not in the spirit of free ice cream. Spread the love, it’s the Ben & Jerry’s way.
