In case you have been living under a rock or winter in south Florida, Providence has become a bit of a winter
hellscape wonderland in the past couple of weeks. Though the cold really is a pain, the extraordinary amount of snow has given us some opportunities for fun. Russell Carey ’91 MA’06 wrote the best email ever. The Pyramids of Giza showed up on the Main Green. Every bottle of peppermint schnapps on the East Side was purchased and consumed in the span of 24 hours last week (probably).
You see? There are plenty of fun ways to beat the cold. Now we want to know how you brave the New England winters.
It’s back! Just like last year, BlogDailyHerald is proud to be collaborating with the Senior Class Board to bring you this year’s Senior Superlatives poll. We want to celebrate the members of the Brown Class of 2015 by acknowledging their smarts, quirks, or potential to become the world’s next viral reality star. Here’s how it works:
Anyone with a Brown email address can vote, which means that all students and faculty members are eligible to nominate members of the senior class.
1) Nominate seniors in 30 different categories. Nominations will close on Monday, January 26 at 11:59 p.m.
Then, you can:
2) Vote for one of the top five nominees in each category. Voting will close Sunday, February 1 at 11:59p.m.
The results will then be posted in the following week here on BlogDailyHerald. So what now? Nominate seniors across 30 categories in a Google Form after the jump!
It’s November, which means a seemingly endless onslaught of heavy precipitation at temperatures just above freezing has begun. In the past few days, I’ve heard a myriad of terms used for the absolutely awful weather that most recently visited us on Monday.
So what is it? A wintry mix? Sleet? The Worst Thing? Let us know. In the meantime, we at BlogDH just wish it would snow already. Time to move to Buffalo.
It’s easy to long for something more while you sit at your cubicle at your summer internship. That “something more” is an exciting coming school year at the most incredible place with the best (read: sexiest, smartest) people. While the 2012-2013 school year may be behind us, let’s reflect on how we should remember the past school year.
Yesterday’s pre-downpour heat got us (maybe a bit prematurely) in the mood for the season. We’ll milk it for all it’s worth.
Considering how awful the weather has been, we know you can’t wait to get out of here for a week. Tell us what you’re going to be up to.
