Guo Dahao, a.k.a. the man who’s been cycling around the world since 1999, was recently spotted in Bristol. No doubt tired from his circumnavigation attempt, Guo knocked on the door of the Sousa family’s home late Friday night in hopes that they would let him set up camp in their yard. The couple, sensing that he was not a threat, invited him to stay in their living room.
Guo, an engineer from Beijing, had dreamed of embarking on a ’round the world cycling journey since the age of 11. At the age of 29, he finally saved enough of money to begin his expedition. But Guo ran out of money somewhere in between being chased after by dogs in Africa and waiting five months for his American visa in Mexico.
