The semester has been underway for a couple weeks now, shopping period has come and gone, and you’re probably deciding on which classes to take S/NC. Pretty soon midterms will start (if they haven’t already) and it’ll seem like there’s little time left to relax. In the midst of this, sometimes the stress can feel overwhelming. As a result, sometimes ya just gotta shake it out. Introducing the Harlem Shake: Brown Edition, our very own chance to be famous on YouTube relieve stress and make an epic video.
You might ask, “What is the Harlem Shake?” For those who are less familiar, I think it’s best to show and not tell:
The audio didn’t really come through on our impromptu recording of Brown’s dance group flash mob at the campus celebration for President Simmons, so, for the full effect, play this link to Beyonce’s “End of Time” while you watch the video.
Brown’s dance groups caused a splash with their Spring Weekend flash mob. But they may have already been outdone: a URI flash mob led to the early closure of a campus library Sunday night after 400 students descended in coordinated choreography. According to ProJo reports, students were playing loud music, chanting and standing on tables. That so would not fly in the Absolute Quiet Room.
Too much work got you down? Not sure if you’re gonna be able to survive? Maybe you are just wishing it was a month ago, when we were basking in the Binder sunlight. Here’s a little video to spark your nostalgia.
Try to play Where’s Waldo and find the most inebriated person in frame, or look for yourself–whichever is more fun. Who says Brown doesn’t have school spirit?
