Event: The Undeground Coffee Shop opening party

The new student-run non-profit coffee shop will be celebrating its grand opening tonight with food, live music, and of course, caffeine.

Thursday, April 23

Event: Borges y Yo: Maria Kodama discusses her life with Jorge Luis Borges
Time: 4 p.m.
Location: Pembroke Hall 3rd Floor

María Kodama will be here to talk about life with, and the works of, her late husband, literary master, Jorge Luis Borges. The lecture will be conducted in Spanish.

Friday, April 24

Event: Buy with Heart Marketplace
Time: 12 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
Location: Main Green

Use your local purchasing power at the Buy with Heart Marketplace; everything from food to home decor, clothing, beauty products, and more, will be available. Plus, you’ll be putting your money towards causes that matter — your shopping will drive social impact and economic development in our great state of Rhode Island.

Event: The Badmaash Show, Volume X: Throw It Back
Time: 7 – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Salomon 101

Get ready to throw it back with hip-hop, jazz, bollywood, kathak, garba, and more. Doors open at 6:30 p.m, though pre sale tickets will be available at JWW and the Main Green from Monday 4/20 — Friday 4/24. $5 in advance, $7 at the door.

Event: Brown Folk Fest 2015
Time: 7:30 p.m. – Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m.
Location: Pembroke Field House (Friday), Lincoln Field (Saturday)

This annual post-SW msuic fest promises two days of  great folk, presented by the Brown University Folk Festival. Buy tickets online or on the Main Green on Wednesday, April 22.

Event: Brown Unheard 2015 Tent Shows
Time: 10 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.
Location: Lincoln Field

The annual acoustic music festival on Lincoln Field. Students build and decorate their own “tents” and people can wander from tent to tent to hear beautiful music, poetry, art installations, and more.

Saturday, April 25

Event: Strides in Solidarity — Fun Run
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Main Green

Strides in Solidarity is a fun run around the Brown campus to support Partner’s in Health lifesaving work: building community health care systems that deliver the highest quality health care to the poorest communities around the world.

Event: Lawn Party 2015
Time: 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
Location: The block on Benefit Street between Waterman and College

The joint RISD/Brown lawn party features a line-up of both Brown and RISD bands and musicians, as well as food from different local food trucks and a beer garden. Cash only at the food trucks and beer garden. Rain date: Sunday April, 26 from 1-5 p.m.

Event: 14th Annual Brown University Spring Thaw Powwow
Time: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Pembroke Field

Brown University’s Native Heritage Series and Native Americans at Brown host a day of dance competitions, native food, and quality arts and crafts. Free admission and free dancer registration. Grand entry at noon.

Sunday, April 26

Event: BMP Presents: Spring 2015 Premiere
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Avon Cinema

Four student films will be premiered. Tickets are $5 pre sale, and $7 at the door.
