Larry Bird. Reggie Miller. Gordon Hayward.
Now, let’s add another accomplished basketball star from Indiana — Jordin Alexander ’16.
With a baseline jumper, the public health concentrator scored her 1000th point as a Brown Bear this month, and now, with 1018 career points, is tied for 17th in Bears’ history.
Next year, Alexander will play at Florida Gulf Coast University — a.k.a Dunk City — as a grad student. If not for unfortunate circumstances, she may well have reached even more exclusive milestones in Brown’s athletic history. Ironically, she’ll be getting her first postseason experience with the Eagles the year that the Ivy League gets its first postseason tournament. For her historic scoring in her last weekend as a Brown Bear, Alexander has been named The Herald’s Athlete of the Week.
Herald: First off, Beatles or Stones?
H: Favorite meal of the day, and why?
A: Breakfast, for sure. Gotta start your day off right.
H: If you could shadow any one person for a day and see how they went about their daily lives, who would that be?
A: I’d like to shadow Steph Curry. I’ve always looked up to him, and I’d like to see what his day consists of, workouts and all that.
H: What’s your rap name?
A: A lot of people call me “DJ.” DJ … “Dark Jordin” is what it stands for.
